Rev. Jerry Akin and his family moved to Buena Vista in June of 2013. He completed his undergraduate work at The University of Alabama, and earned his Master of Divinity degree at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.
Jerry was drawn to Methodism after being introduced to Wesleyan theology, which stresses the life of Christian holiness: to love God with all one’s heart, mind, soul and strength and to love one’s neighbor as oneself. Jerry answered the call to pastoral ministry in 2012, and is currently a Provisional Elder in the United Methodist Church.
He and his wife, Clare, are both natives of nearby Columbus, GA. They have two children: Liam and Hannah Clare.
